Los Angeles County, California Inmate Search
On This Page
Inmate searches are typically online queries conducted by individuals looking for inmates held in a specific jail and their corresponding case or housing details. Public agencies operating jails may provide systems, portals, rosters, or search tools to find inmates and inmate information online. Persons may also request records directly from jails or through third-party resources.
However, conducting inmate searches in Los Angeles County may be difficult as there are several correctional facilities in the county, including those run by state, federal, county, and city agencies. For instance, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has three facilities within the county, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation runs a state prison in Lancaster. Furthermore, some local agencies like Glendale PD, Los Angeles PD, and Long Beach PD have temporary holding cells or jails. Hence, interested persons should conduct searches according to the housing facility, if known.
Nevertheless, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department offers an inmate information portal that provides public data on those incarcerated in the county's jail system. Interested persons may also view recent bookings or direct related custody queries to:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department
211 West Temple Street,
Los Angeles, CA 90012
Phone: (213) 473-6100.
